Focus controls make the right part of a product screen easier to see. Use them when a capture is dense, the important UI is small, or the story needs to move attention across a screen. Inkly supports different focus tools depending on the step type.

Zoom region

Focus a screenshot or video step on the part of the screen that matters.

HTML zoom

Scale an HTML capture inside the player from the step settings.

Crop and alignment

Crop image steps or align image and video media inside the stage.

Zoom regions

Use a zoom region when the viewer should focus on one part of a screenshot or video step. Position the zoom target and preview the result before publishing. Zoom works best when the surrounding screen still gives context. Avoid zooming so far that viewers lose where they are in the product.

HTML zoom

HTML steps have an HTML zoom control. Use it to scale the captured page inside the player. 100% is the captured size. HTML zoom helps when the captured page is wider, taller, or denser than the player area. Preview the step after changing it to make sure messages still feel anchored to the right element.

Crop and alignment

Use Edit on image steps to crop the source image. Cropping creates a new asset for the selected region. Use alignment when image or video media does not naturally match the player shape. Alignment controls how the media is contained, filled, or positioned inside the stage.
