Voiceover adds narration to a demo step so it can explain itself without a live presenter. Open Voiceover from the editor to work step by step. Each step can have its own script and audio.

Write the script

Add the text the narrator should say. When a step already has message copy, Inkly can use that text as a starting point. Keep the script conversational and short. The viewer should be able to listen while following the visual flow.

Generate, record, or attach audio

Use Generate to synthesize narration from the script, Record to capture your own voice, or Asset to attach an existing audio file. After audio is attached, you can preview it from the voiceover panel or remove it from the step.

Captions

Generated voiceover also creates timed captions. Captions are tied to the audio, so removing voiceover removes the generated captions. Captions appear in the player during preview and publishing. Review the demo after generating narration to make sure the captions match the pacing.
